Seriously, I could care less. OpenWrt support and the ability to handle gigabit or faster Internet is the most important features. I’ve wired my house with Ethernet so few devices are on Wi-Fi. Those devices are either portable (smartphones, tablets) or lack ethernet jacks (smart thermostat, etc.).

Its I couldn’t care less. By saying I could care less you’re saying that you care at least some measurable amount, which is the exact opposite of what you’re trying to say.

I have a couple questions about using external storage. Will it be a problem running a 2.5" that is powered by USB? I know it talks about external power in the storage section of the interface guide, but is that talking about 3.5" with external power?

Note: The power consumption of USB hard drive is quite high. You should use it with an external power supply. Otherwise, it may cause malfunction.

Also, is it OK to plug in the drive as the Flint 2 is powered on and running or should this be done with the unit powered off? Thanks.

If the device complies with the applicable currents and voltages of the USB definition, this should not be a problem. Unfortunately, some devices do not, so the only thing that helps is to try it out.

USB SSDs, for example, should not be a problem as they do not consume much power.

My unit came with 4.5.2 installed, is it recommended to upgrade to 4.5.3? I’ve only had it connected to a ISP supplied router to check it out and to mess around with it before I plan on replacing the ISP supplied router with it.

I am using 4.5.3 and all is fine. Just do it, you can go back anytime*

*) as long as you have the fw file which you can download in the download center.

If you are inside the EU you should update because there was an issue with the Wi-Fi power; it was too high.

Is there anything one should know before upgrading, like is it better to do it via online or local? Not in the EU, so I don’t think mine had that issue.

I really wonder what the antenna dBi is.

Well, still no invoice
Either they send it today or the 2 weeks will have been over

Wow. Thank you so much for that, it is an awesome day when I can learn something new. What a saint you are!

Unfortunately I can no longer edit that post to correct it.

Do I need first upgrade new firmware before switch to Extender mode?

You can switch your Flint 2 to Extender mode on a firmware 4.5.3.

I am very surprised that this router is very powerful and has a good signal for 2 floors. The router is located at the top of the room and the videodoor bell sees 65% of the Wi-Fi signal. I thought I don’t need to install a 2nd router. The only thing left to do is to copy the adguard home settings from the raspberry pi home assistant. It’s a pity that the old list filters doesn’t work.

I can’t find a WPS feature that can connect a small booster from Vodafone🤔

There is no WPS, that’s why you can’t find it.

Would be better to add a feature inside the router, no need for a physical button. Like the original Vodafone HUB page showing pair WPS with timer.

Guess this will not happen since WPS is not even really supported out of the box in OpenWrt itself:

Strange, I just checked the firmware page and the beta 4.5.4 has disappeared… Was released 6th Dec. I wonder why they did that. No RC.
