Meet Flint 2 (GL-MT6000 )

@japa182 2.4Ghz devices i have connect without issues and will always be slow on performance, which isn’t shocking as 2.4Ghz was designed for distance not speed.

I have a complex network setup to begin with for most of my stuff but i do use a combination of Wireless and Wired connections.

Also there is no difference between my version of OpenWRT images and official ones other then i have included some packages unless.

so it’s a half truth about this, here on my pc with ax200 wireless network card when I connect to 2.4ghz I get 300mb when it’s 40hz

Here my configuration is as follows.
cable ps5, cable tv and a cable tv box, the rest all via wifi.
I go to sleep and when I wake up all my wifi devices are disconnected and can no longer connect, I tested the gl.inet firmware and also the 23.05-snapshot and the openwrt snapshot and the same problem happens in all of them…

Ok what shows in the logs??

yes
logread.zip (18.2 KB)

I am now using openwrt.
I used this method: [OpenWrt Wiki] Get a free HTTPS certificate from LetsEncrypt for OpenWrt with ACME.sh to generate a certificate for duckdns domain

Steps I took: turn off firewall

In luci installed acemesh

And also tried in busy box:

I keep getting the firewell error report (even though the firewall is off and i reeboted):

Both via luci and on busybox but it keep generating key rather but not the certificate. I also searched around on the net for now last 3 days but couldn’t find an easy explanation/example that can be adopted to obtain ssl’s specialy for use in adguard.

It looks like it is not well written about how and would be beneficial if someone who is well versed and is able to describe in detail , perhaps in a stepwise manner or a script…

@tcp did you forward the port? might help

@japa182 Looking at the log nothing is jumping out to me. I suggest you try 20hz on 2.4Ghz though just incase.

Yes, I’ve already tested 2.4 at 20hz, it doesn’t exceed 100mb, I understand, but the latency is up there, is there a problem related to that.

How many days has your MT6000 been active?
Never had a reboot? or the wifi stops connecting?

The only time i have had to reboot mine is when i have done a firmware update else, i haven’t had any issues with the wireless at all.

So for example i did an update so currently its

Hostname	router
Model	GL.iNet GL-MT6000
Architecture	ARMv8 Processor rev 4
Target Platform	mediatek/filogic
Firmware Version	OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r24673-659f027e69 / LuCI Master git-23.352.59927-d41e972
Kernel Version	6.1.67
Local Time	2023-12-19 12:46:07
Uptime	1d 0h 43m 7s
Load Average	0.00, 0.00, 0.00```

However it can go for a long time with no restarts without issues on wired or wireless. I do mainly use 5Ghz however there are 2.4Ghz clients connected as well.

hmmm kernel 6.1.67.

Maybe this kernel can help us with the problems I had, all versions are based on 5.15

What packages do you have in your firmware?
thinking about testing here.

Always check the mainfest to findout what is installed

I saw that you left some defaults like openssl, but there are also some wolfssl packages.

I read no FXO interfaces and no DECT modules

Yeah, it’s not a FritzBox or a LANCOM all-in-one.

luckly… lol eheh

It would be nice if the next Flint was an all-in-one. Port for fibre (FTTH) and FXE ports for telephony.
