Good morning where did you update the lights and with which command?
Luci > software > update button
Guys, don’t forget re-login goodcloud your router when updated new firmware.
Just wanted to drop some info into this thread as I’m a new Flint 2 user.
A few weeks back I installed banip and the luci app banip too. I set it up with some country blocks and block lists. It was the package which gl-inet have in their repository. I thought it was strange that the logs weren’t showing anything, but left it as is as it showed it was active. It turns out even though it was active, it wasn’t blocking anything.
I read the official banip support thread banIP support thread - Community Builds, Projects & Packages - OpenWrt Forum and noticed that the package (.ipk) was quite old compared to the current release so installed the newer version on my flint 2. This was a bit fiddly as I had to first uninstall the older version before ssh into the Flint 2 downloading the correct package (https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/packages-23.05/aarch64_cortex-a53/packages/banip_0.9.3-4_all.ipk) and using opkg install banip.
I also install the default luci app banip , but I will install the latest one from here (https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/packages-23.05/aarch64_cortex-a53/luci/luci-app-banip_git-23.362.61940-b31a54e_all.ipk).
I had to sign out of luci and back in again for it show as active.
The logs now are showing active blocks and so far everything is working fine. I did have to remove a couple of the subscribed block lists as one legit site was being blocked. I need to do some more fine tuning. I also use adguard home.
This may help some people who are looking at using banip and notice the logs don’t populate.
I figure if it breaks anything , I will uninstall and the next firmware upgrade I install will clean up any legacy settings.
Good luck.
I just got myself a new Flint 2 delivered yesterday which is replacing my five year old NetGear X6S that didn’t have WiFi 6. The Flint 2 arrived with version 4.5.4 pre-installed.
I’m watching the other MT6000 bug thread and won’t be updating to version 4.5.5 anytime soon though.
I like GL.iNet devices since my very first GL.iNet AR750S Slate router has received firmware updates to v4 and it’s 5 years old. Nice!
Does anyone know the antenna gain of the MT6000? @alex_zheng
Antenna Gain:2.4G ≤3.42dBi&5G≤3.79dBi;
Picked up one the other day for dev purposes...
Nice unit, well made...
Unboxing - reduce the amount of plastics - going from the plastic tray to the cardboard/egg carton material isn't just eco safe/good, it impacts the cost of import into the EU..
Seriously - Do I need a plastic bag for the AC adapter, the adapter for the adapter, and bag around the router, and a poly sheet between the antennae and the top of the router? Is it really important to have a paper sleeve outside of the box vs a printed label - poly outside to wrap the box vs a tape to ensure the box is closed...
Having been there, done that with shipping product into the EU - the waste stream has a cost, and this is being passed upstream to the distributors..
