Just get a proper router… An Asus with Merlin support is highly recommended,
Will the flint 2 support mesh with multiple flint 2’s (or other gl.inet routers) as additional access points?
not likely: Product Comparison - GL.iNet
I wish the same… hopefully a Velica successor is on the way too
Any update on release timeframe for the Flint 2?
I have the Flint 1, It’s terrific, everything works well, and I use USB tethering a lot however I wanted to upgrade my LAN to 2.5GB so the Flint 2 is very compelling,
when flint2 is available for sale on the store?
It will be available for pre-sale on Oct 17th.
What will the price be?
It looks like an early start am (0400CEST)…a super early bird maybe?
On the email it says: all pre-order items will be shipped from China, and customers are responsible for covering any applicable tax and custom fees.
Is this true? What’s with the vpn feature if it’s shipped from China?
I think it means that the manufacturing factory is in China, so it will ship from there directly.
The pre-sale units should be the “international” version(VPN functions included), unless it stated or purchased from resellers within China will be the “de-VPN” version.
But on the previous email they said
- Before you pre-order, it’s essential to ensure that your VPN is turned off or set to a country that matches your shipping address. The shop button is designed to automatically redirect you to different stores based on your IP location. For instance, if your IP location is in Germany, you will be redirected to the EU Store.
Hope someone from the team can reply too.
This is no doubt a stupid question, but with the current Flint AX1800 do the antennas broadcast signal throughout the full length of the antennas or does it specifically broadcast out of the tips like a laser pointer?
All Vertical Antennas broadcast in an Omni-Directional pattern…In all directions…No not out the tips.
Just noticed that the FLINT 2 (GL-MT6000) firmware that is available is the 4.50 Beta Firmware…
Since my OOMA VOIP Adapter has proven to not work on the 4.50 Beta Firmware for the current FLINT it looks like the FLINT 2 is going to be a non-starter for me…Oh well…It was fun while it lasted.
Picture a Donut sitting on the top of the antenna and expanding outwards
Why the power source is 12V 4A if in the details page says the power consumption is <20W? For USB load?
Its Mine at Super early bird prices
