I received yesterday the message that the ordered Flint 4 has arrived at GLi’s warehouse in Germany and it will be shipped to me on the 24th of August.
Probably it will arrive here in the Netherlands next week.

I think their original email about the dispatch being prepared was intentionally ambiguous. Whilst I hoped I’d get the dispatch email yesterday, I’m now thinking it will be some point this week. I guess we need to remember they’re a small company, so I’d expect their capability for shipping items is also small.
On the other hand however, it’s not as though they have 10000 of these devices to ship from each region…

SFP+ that connects over copper are usually a miniaturized switch that links to the switch as a native 10G port regardless of the copper link.
SFP+ that connect over fiber usually works at 1/10 G.

I can confirm that the FS.com 1Gb SFP BiDi with generic FW works as expected. I just had to set up the WAN connection as VLAN 100.
Additionally, the router decided that as I’d set up the VLAN, it would set the subnet to 192.168.8.1, so I was scratching my head when certain devices I had (with static IP’s for a 192.168.1.1 subnet) weren’t connecting. That was a very quick fix once I’d figured it out however.
Thanks for confirming that the FS.com generic-firmware 1Gb SFP BiDi works with Flint 4, including your VLAN 100 setup. This compatibility report should be helpful to other users.
Also a useful reminder to check the Flint 4 LAN subnet—devices configured with static addresses must use addresses and gateways matching the router’s LAN subnet.

Finally I received my Flint 4.
DHL refused to deliver it on Saturday (more than 90% of their shipments they won’t deliver in the weekend just saying I was not at home).
Package was a tiny bit damaged but the inside was fine.
Had some problems with the first setup because it refused to log in wired over ethernet.
Just did twice a reset and a “repair” and finally it booted normal.
Setting up the basic settings and VPN settings (Proton VPN).
It is running (1 Gbps symmetric fiber line) and my Wireguard VPN speed is:

the website says “We are preparing your order for dispatch.”….
using my Flint 2 which has been a very good router, unlike the Flint 3 which i returned……
I love my FLINT 3 now that I understand it better and have AdGuard + Unbound working well and blocking internet on my Samsung TV constantly phoning home and SearXNG running in a docker container on the FLINT 3 NODE.
I too am waiting the shipping of the FLINT 4 (to Oz).
