Mudi 7 - OpenWRT / LUCI Web Interface?

Hi GL.iNET Community,

I am interested in the upcoming Mudi 7 (GL-E5800) router.

But its a little unclear to me if it runs OpenWRT under the covers. Obviously alot of functionality can be managed from the Touchscreen UI, but was hoping that the router was running OpenWRT and hence could access the usual GL.iNET OpenWRT Web UI and LUCI advanced interface.

From one of the CES videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P80eC4h3DY&pp=ygUGTXVkaSA3 from “NASCompares” it suggests this is not the case, but then a commentor says OpenWRT is available.

Also will we be able to access the device via SSH as per other routers.

Maybe GL.iNET could confirm if Mudi 7 is running OpenWRT ?

I believe the video primarily highlights that the built-in screen is not intended for complex interfaces like LuCI or other third-party plugins. But you can still access the full GL.iNet Admin Panel and LuCI by connecting a device to the Mudi 7’s LAN or Wi-Fi network. Tailscale will be supported too.

Yes, the device remains accessible via SSH and continues to run GL.iNet firmware based on OpenWRT like our other routers.
