Okay, thanks. I will report to the R&D team to verify it.
@Cathy Update: SMS still working since 3 days after run AT+CFUN=0/1
You should fix now in upcoming version..
@Cathy same here. I'm on day 5 after my last CFUN=0/1, SMS still working fine.
manually running these commands seems to be working for me too.
Hello, I tried the AT+CFUN=0/1 but it did not seem to work fopr me: my issue is I CAN receive SMS but I CANNOT send them out, even afer applying the AT+CFUN=0/1.
I am on the latest firmware, the SIM card can operate SMS normally if placed in a 5G mobile phone.
If possible, I’d like getting some further suggestions to solve this issue, given I’m not terribly tec-wise.
Thanks.
Hello, please try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
- please run
AT+QCFG="IMS"to check the command response:
If the command returns +QCFG: "ims",0,0, runAT+QCFG="IMS",1and then try again - If you use T-Mobile sim card, please enable Band Masking under cellular Manual Setup, then set masking mode to "block" and block out 5G SA bands to try. There is a module configuration that may impact TMO SMS sending
- If your sim card is not T-Mobile sim card or issue persists after trying above, please export the modem debug info from the Modem Management page and send to for troubleshooting.
Hello Cathy,
thanks for your kind and quick reply.
I’ve been following your indications with the below results.
Upon sending command AT+QCFG="IMS"
I got replied
+QCFG: "ims",1,0
OK
I tested sending SMS from router and it was unsuccessful.
After this I decided sending anyway the command AT+QCFG="IMS",1
I got replied
OK
Still unsuccessful sending of SMS.
I confirm I'm not on T-Mobile sim card; I'm on a Portuguese telecom company called "WOO”.
Modem debug info attached.
Thanks.

I should add that i use visible as well.
Thanks for coming back to me.
I’m not extremely tech-wise. What do you mean when you say “i use visible”?
You use a Portuguese telecom company called WOO. Craptor uses a U.S. telecom company called Visible.
All clear then, thanks. I was caught off balance by the lowercap “v” in visible.
Hello, router sends SMS via IMS by default. We found that your sim card is not able to sending SMS over IMS/IP and only support SMS over NAS. Your sim card carrier may not support IMS SMS. Both SMS sending and receiving are now working correctly. Please try it again
Hello Cathy, I confirm SMS send/receive is working correctly. Thanks to you and the Team.
Great. You are welcome
I have the same problem. can receive but not send sms. what did you/Cathy do to make yours working?
I can confirm that the 5G SA bands is the problem with T-Mobile. once enabled “Band Masking” of 5G SA band, SMS worked fine, both receiving and sending. However, I can’t leave it like this, as after rebooting, the sim card won’t registered with network anymore. needed to disable the band masking to get cellular connection back.
I had the problem with RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G_A0.201.A0.201, upgraded to RM520NGLAAR03A04M4G_A0.301.A0.301, the same sms problem.
Router GL-XE3000 firmware 4.8.3
Is the a problem with modem firmware or the router software? Do we expect a fix?
Hello hhspiny,
sorry for the delay in my reply.
I don’t know exactly what Cathy and Team did, sorry I can’t provide you with any details.
Anyway I see you’ve gone beyond, already.
I wish you all the best with the solution of this issue.
Hello, SMS feature doesn't work when using T-Mobile SA is due to the modem certification. I've sent you the related command to fix it, please check and try again
thank you. I can confirm that it has been fixed. if anyone still has the problem, you can contact Cathy. it is a simple fix.
Same Problem for me. Running a Vodafone SIM in Germany
