New firmware version 4.7 being released for beta testing

The latest supposed RC has broken my internet as well as soon as I use encrypted DNS together with a VPN client on. The usual 2 steps forward, one and a half step backward with GL.iNET. I have the firmware version you are after and let me know if you still want it to see how I can send it to you.

When will this be released as stable on the Flint AX? Its been over 3 months since our last update

Can you upload it here and then send me the link? Is free

You can change the language at the top right of the page

Thanks for your response. Steps were: 1) clean RC firmware install on the Flint 2 and using PPPoE for internet access. 2) Turning wireguard client (using windscribe) working ok. 3) turning encrypted DNS on using my NextDNS profile without changing any other settings is where the problem starts and I am unable to access any website at all. 4) Either turning VPN client off or switching DNS back to automatic restores my internet connection. 5) Keeping VPN on and activating Adguard and internet is still working. 6) Reverting back to earlier firmware version and I am not experiencing the same issue.

You could have a feature called "export settings for debug".

When the user click on this button, it will create an image excluding sensitive informations (usernames, password or any credentials), but including also all logs.

Then what you need to do is loading this image to your hardware at GL-iNet.
This will make your life much easier.

Thanks. It was 4.7.0-op24 that I reverted back to as I have always found the OP24 line to work better overall apart from the infamous WiFi issues that don't affect me much as I use access points for my WiFi.

I've installed this version of 4.7

and it seems like the traffic statistics is way over counting the data used. It says I've used over 120GB when according to my network provider I only used 17GB.

Thanks

uodates for this issue?

I found a bug in RC 4.7.4 for Beryl AX with repeater mode. This is on new flash, did not keep settings.

  1. Repeater mode, connect to a 5 ghz Wifi network.
  2. Go to Wireless tab, turn off both 2.4ghz and 5ghz Wifi.
(After this point, the router still repeats and internet still works for ethernet clients)
  3. Reboot the router.

The router will refuse to connect to the saved 5 ghz wifi network for repeater. I believe it thinks the 5ghz radio is off because of 2)?

The API design of NordVPN remains unchanged so far.

Hi,

We are aware of this issue and are very sorry.
This issue will be improved in the next version firmware.

Thanks for your reports.

Hello,

I follow the steps you described and do that on my MT3000.
The issue was not reproduced.

  1. Repeater and connect to a primary 5GHz WiFi:

  2. Disable the 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi, and reboot the router, the repeater connected again after the router started.

Please PM me the issue syslog, let us check if your router has the repeater process.

Hello,

I want to know about your 5GHz WiFi issue on Flint 2 with v4.7.4,

  1. Is the WiFi link between the 5GHz client device and the router disconnected?
  2. Is the GL router 5GHz WiFi SSID disappeared?
  3. If possible, please PM me the issue syslog.

Thanks!

Hello, thank you for your interest, there are probably several points and only after a lot of experimenting did it become stable.

5ghz only on channel 40 = no improvement

Test with and without USB = no improvement

Then test with 5ghz + 80 mhz on channel 40 + USB on 2.0

2.4 on bgn and 20 mhz channel 9

Things got better - but still not perfect.

So I concentrated on the VPN and discovered that GL INET had implemented Nordvpn Wireguard, which is not supported by Nordvpn at all because it is still in development.

The question arises why Gl Inet offers something that the manufacturer doesn't even offer?!?
