We're excited to be in the process of developing our newest firmware v4.7, which brings various enhancements to the repeater mode and some of our other features.
Please note that firmware v4.7 will first be available on these GL.iNet models:
Flint 2 (GL-MT6000)
Beryl AX (GL-MT3000)
Brume 2 (GL-MT2500)/(GL-MT2500A)
The beta firmware is available for download for Flint 2, Beryl AX, Brume 2. Follow these steps:
Go to the download page for the router model (Please note that it is the BETA tab):
Some cloud features are still in the pipeline, for example, AstroWarp's current beta version is not yet online, and the APP cloud control function is still in the debugging stage.
AzireVPN Sign up for a free month trial campaign will be launched soon!
More supported router models are coming soon.
We will keep you posted on further updates on our new firmware!
Note that the warning at the top says, "Guest Wi-Fi is disabled so guest networks is not work." I think it should say, "Guest Wi-Fi is disabled so guest networks will not work."
First view of the firmware is pretty awesome so far!
Good 1st setup guide, great way to integrate WireGuard using NordVPN without manual hassle.
I am pretty happy with the all-in-all user experience so far! Many small adjustments (like port speed negotiation) that make the GL GUI more useful and professional.
Wow, I'm impressed with 4.7 on my Brume 2! Yes, there are some UI typos/language issues, but I can really tell the GL Development team has been busy! Keep them coming!
Just installed 4.7 on Brume2. Really nice. Only thing I’ve noticed is controld via the router admin panel only supports tls encryption, not the superior https (premium account - resolver). Is this an error or just hasn’t been implemented yet? Great update though! Thanks.
It does not interfere why manufacturers prohibit the USB port during the router manufacturing process not to cause interference. In general, this function would only make sense to correct a GL.INET manufacturing error, as what was for another forum user:
Believe what you want to. It is well-known that USB 3 can cause interference issues with WiFi. Several manufacturers offer the same thing, with the same explanation - WiFi interference.
I'm not saying that USB 3.0 doesn't interfere with 2.4GHz networks, but that this issue can be addressed by properly sealing the USB 3.0 port in the manufacturing process.
Sandeep Harpalani (Netgear): We've addressed this issue with a better hardware design that isolates this noise and reduces the impact to almost negligible on our USB 3.0 Wi-Fi routers like the R6250 (AC1600 WiFi router). In a non-optimized design, the impact can be quite significant on the 2.4GHz band.
