Can we have the feature of goodcloud.xyz permanent on all routers to have remote access enable automatically after a software reset or factory default.

Sorry, unfortunately no, according to the factory default configuration, we cannot apply GoodCloud to the enable state by default.
This must be manually enabled by the users, because GoodCloud involves remote control.

@bruce i totally agree the reason. But on the first time register goodcloud.xyz should remember the owner and if you make it enable by default then the last registered account will see it and can configure it from scratch in case of factory default as device will try to register using device id and serial number. This will be like an addon for the users.

But let say if this device is resell then the new owner will try to register it on his account. This request should be treated as transfer of ownership which will be managed by both previous owner and new owner.

Just a thought though.

If it is resold, you need to log out of GoodCloud on the GL GUI first.
Otherwise, after receiving this router, a new user will not be able to register with a new GoodCloud account even if reset firmware or uboot flash firmware.

This is to protect the router owner information from being read by the thieves.
We cannot prevent your router from being stolen, but we can protect user information to the greatest extent.

The router is managed by the organization, and the user is a member of the organization. This belongs to the 2B version of the GoodCloud. And this feature is supported.

Can this please be re-added?

So for non-organization routers can we add browser support to GLKVM so that we can use atleast this option to manage a device via. Lan in case of a factory reset or even new routers.

This is also a use case for glkvm product.

Hello,

Although Auto detect mode was removed in v4.8, the policy mode of v4.8 (custom "To") should be able to cover your needs.
How about the VPN rules do you want to configure?

Sorry, please clarify your needs and use scenario.
Now GLKVM supported the browser access via LAN IP or domain in local

My request is tonaccess remote lan where glkvmis connected

As I wrote in my previous comments, the AdGuardHome running on my router needs to connect to an upstream DNS server, which can only be reached via VPN. My LAN clients can reach it through the VPN, but adguardhome running on the router itself not.

Can’t seem to find this answer: was there a reason that carrier profiles were ditched in the 4.8 update? I’ve got a GL-X3000. docs4.x/docs/interface_guide/internet_cellular_v4.7.md at master · gl-inet/docs4.x · GitHub

There are cloud platform/APP for glkvm and other methods (tailscale) to access it remotely.

There is no need to access glkvm through the router GoodCloud platform.
This is a different product line and the software will not be shared.

If you mean APN profile, it's still there, but it's changed location:

May be im unable to express what exactly im looking for.

Let me try one last time.

Lets say i did factory reset on a remote router where i have goodcloud enabled, after factory reset i need to enable it manually connect via. Lan. I understood

Now to manage any factory reset routers can i use glkvm which is in the same lan ? Is it possible ?

The glkvm itself cannot access the GL GUI.

You may think to SSH to router in glkvm's terminal, but if the router is firmware of v4.8.0 or above, and the router is not initialized, the SSH 22 port is inaccessible.

Moreover, if the router is not initialized, the LAN's glkvm cannot be connected to the Internet. Therefore, only people on LAN and complete initializing the router.

Maybe not possible.

I mean the “carrier profiles" as mentioned in the 4.7 docs that I linked, wherein I could save/load different APN settings. The docs you linked do not mention an “APN profile”. I'm looking for the reason where this feature went:

Carrier profile

You can save different profiles for the same or different carriers.

Hello,

I see.
On the v4.8 firmware, we did remove the APN profile saved list, but as long as you fill in the APN profile(s) and apply it, this APN will be recorded/save in the background of the router, the router will automatically apply the corresponding Profile for SIM, until you manually reset firmware.

That is to say, when using SIM A, manually enter Profile A and apply in the first time; switch to SIM B, manually enter Profile B and apply in the first time; when you switch to SIM A, the router will automatically apply Profile A to SIM A by recognizing the ICCID of SIM and reading the previously saved Profile A in the background, without manually entering it again. And the same as SIM B.
