Except I don’t see a way to save PIN for the SIM at all, which means everytime the router reboots I need to re-enter the PIN which is annoying.
Hello,
If the SIM card has a PIN lock, the first time it's inserted into the router, the GL GUI will prompt you to enter the PIN code, as shown in the image below:
Enter the correct PIN code and unlock it.
The router will remember this SIM card's PIN code, so you won't need to re-enter it if router reboot.
Additionally, if you remove this SIM card and insert it again later, the router will automatically recognize the SIM card's ICCID and unlock the PIN.
Unless you manually reset firmware to make the router return to factory settings.
That’s not correct. Every time I reboot it asks for the PIN again and won’t connect without it.
Hello,
I did not reproduce this issue in my X3000.
Please share your router with us via GoodCloud, I would like to remote check this issue on the router.
Please PM me your router MAC address and the Admin Panel password, SIM PIN code.
Add a feature in GL-iNet GUI where the user can export all their settings, except their credentials, then they can send it to you and you can load this file in your device, then this will be much easier to reproduce the problems.
Sorry, exporting all settings (configuration backup) is not supported for now. (We have submitted this to PM team to evaluate)
Please share the router with us through GoodCloud and we will check the issue.
I also tested it locally:
- Manually add a PIN code "1234" to this SIM card (Configure in phone, or using AT commands
AT+CLCK="SC",1,"1234"in X3000) - Factory reset X3000 settings. Insert this card into router X3000, firmware v4.8.2 r5, it will remind to enter PIN code and unlock
- Restart the router X3000, log in to the GL GUI to check, the SIM card does not need to enter the PIN code again, and automatically connected.
Hi, I noticed that Brume 2 wasn’t on the list in the first post, and now you’re finally releasing it for it. Is there any chance you’ll also release it for the Mango?
Hello,
Brume2 has released firmware v4.8.2.
Due to low performance Mango may maintain the current version 4.3, and will only release some security updates, until the maintenance is the end.
Are you saying a stable release of version 4.8.2 for the Brume 2 will be available soon?
Hello,
Since the resources of the testing department are relatively tight, the MT2500 v4.8.2 stable firmware may not be available soon. Although it is a beta firmware now, I think actually relatively stable and you can experience it in advance.
Hey @bruce , do you think it would be possible to add op24 to snapshots, I guess you are reading op24 transition sometime in the future, so that would bring you more feedback on op24.
Thank you for your consideration!
Good morning,
is it possible to get a new op24 for beryl MT3000 version, because of serious security problems in openwrt: CVE-2025-62526 Detail
Thanks
Marcus
Hello,
As the op24 version is constantly being updated, there may be uncontrollable and hidden risks. We have no plans to include op24 in the snapshot for the time being. Truly sorry.
Let us schedule resource to update op24 as possible.
Petition to make OP24 as the main version ![]()
R&D team has given a plan, the closed-source firmware will merge security patches into future firmware versions, and open-source firmware will upgrade the op version to 24.10.4.
Thank you!
Great thanks @bruce . Do we have any eta on this?
Hi
I have a little question about the beta for the x3000 and xe3000 devices. You have withdrawn the beta firmware. What is the reasons for that? I guess you will bring back the 4.8 firmware for that devices next time.
Thanks in advance
KR
Stefan
Upgrade firmware (the withdrawn v4.8.2) with keep settings checked, the SIM APN profile will be lost, that the reason why we withdrew this firmware.
If you want to use the functions of v4.8.x, you can upgrade the snapshot firmware (v4.8.3) to experience it in advance.
