New Firmware?

Any update on availability of new firmware (even if it’s just a buggy beta)?

firmware compiled but a serious bug again. UI is broken, fixing.

Testing firmwares are uploading to http://www.gl-inet.com/firmware/testing/

@alzhao Thanks, really looking forward to checking it out.

Getting a ‘Verification result Error: Firmware is not for this hardware’ error on AR300M. On my MT300N and MT300A, both devices can’t connect to OpenVPN or WISP (DHCP works), and OpenVPN toggle shows ‘You have to set up VPN first in order to use this function’ (.ovpn profile has been uploaded & p/w entered).

Look forward to next compiled version, thanks for all your work

Worked fine on mine - did you make sure you grabbed the rigth version: GL.iNet download center

Bug report: OVPN Manager has been removed.

@juan1, there is a bug about mwan3 so if you use cable, and configure repeater then remove cable, the router doesn’t work good. To use WISP and openvpn, don’t plugin Ethernet cable and reboot the device. Have a try.

@Glitch, because we added other vpn protocol so “ovpn manager” is moved to “Openvpn client” page, there is a button and you can click it to bring up the ovpn manager.

OK, I spent quite some time trying this yesterday and couldn’t find it (went back to official 2.25)…so, I just tried the testing firmware again, and there is no ovpn manager in the openvpn cliet page!

Also, FYI, with the new firmware my VPN wouldn’t run (“not started”).

Thanks for the access to Test versions. Love the addition of switch configuration and more VPN protocols.

FYI, same issue as Glitch here - OVPN (ExpressVPN in my case) not starting.

@Glitch, @khaberz, too bad that openvpn is not running. Will check.

Any log?

@alzhao The System log in LUCI has no trace of my attempting to start the OpenVPN connection. Anywhere else I could look?

Let me check first. Thanks.

Just tried it on my AR150 and it is still a bit funky (as expected), but seems to come along.

But the main thing I noticed is that it still uses the rather old version of ‘wpad’ and ‘wpa_supplicant’ which don’t properly work with WPA2-EAP (WPA2 enterprise). I had tried a standard LEDE install that has the new versions but is missing your nice GUI which I actually quite like.

On my AR300M I was in two different hotels last week and WISP mode was never able to detect the hotel wifi. WISP mode seems broken in this release (understandably, being beta…).

upload 2.254, fixed openvpn start bug.

@alzhao Thanks a lot - I can confirm that it works now.

Tested setting up wisp on an 300M with version 2.254 through and it keeps failing.
Under “repeater connection” it gets stuck on “Connecting to the Internet”. In LuCi the corresponding
Wifi just shows “0% Wireless is disabled or not associated” and no gui interaction can change that.

Here is the system log in case that helps you:

Confirm addition of “Management” button and ability to purge ovpn configs - thanks!

Does this work for you in V2.25? I upgraded with “save settings” and had no problems.

@Glitch, you are right. Wisp config fails if done from scratch with v2.254. It works fine in v2.25 and keeps work if I keep the settings when upgrading to v2.254.
