is o2 germany 5g supported? it says sim not registered, although it says perfect signal, my o2 sim card supports 5g/lte and 300mbps

someone help please

Try what I wrote in another thread:

hi, it did not help me, it caused "sim not registered" issue for LTE too! very weird. i have resetted the firmware and it fixed the issue for LTE but 5g issue with "sim not registered" remains.

also tbh i don't think o2 would ban the imei of glx.

This is even more strange, as IMEI change is permanent, and cannot be reset in this way. Or you mean modem reset?

It seems that band probably not supported (wild guess)

@Bruce and @alzhao can you please take a look?

They can have whitelist of TACs (but it is unlikely)

i meant this, but before that i set back the imei to the original imei

It's possible that the SIM card is causing the issue because when I took it out of my router and used it in my phone, it only connected to 4G. I've requested a new SIM card from O2, which may resolve the issue. I initially got my O2 SIM card back in 2021, when the plan didn't include 5G. When I contacted O2 about this, they assured me that my current SIM should support 5G, but they offered to send a new SIM card just in case.

whelp, anyone having same issue or is there a solution to this?

Can you register a network by selecting only LTE band?

yes, LTE works fine, it is just 5g SA band n28, n1

i have also done this, if i disable LTE bands, then i get sim not registered issue

using LTE/4G i get around 80mbps (not bad), i know my sim supports 5g, and my area does too as you see above, i also confirmed it by contacting o2.

Select both LTE and 5G NSA bands, but not 5G SA

i am getting LTE only, no 5g

Have you tried changing your imei to your phone's imei?

yes, but imei does not really matter. in Germany most carriers like O2 are obligated by law to treat all devices as same.

i think i will wait 3 days for my new sim to arrive, this simcard is pretty old maybe somehow it is not recognized in their 5g system idk how this all works tbh

Does this card work with 5G on your phone? Does it show 4G+ or 4G on the router

on my s22 samsung it shows 4g only, on router it shows 4g+

tbh i think it is the simcard, i am like 95% sure. As for now gl-x3000 is so good, a life changer

Let's see if the new card has this problem :grinning:
