I’m hoping is someone can guild me, I’m using a Flint 2 and want to ad a DVR, i understand that using UPnP requires a download and it not recommended on Gl.iNet routers, but to use port fowarding, I've tried a few ways as pictured but none work with the DVR, im also using a wireguard client.
Any help on this would be appreciated, thanks
Hello,
Is the Port Forwarding not working?
Please describe your specific needs. It looks a little unclear at the moment.
If the network topology is relatively complicated, please provide the network topology diagram.
Hello thanks yes this is a cctv DVR which I has a fixed LAN IP address, in the past I’ve used UPnP to gain access to the DVR’s web site service, that was when I had a billion router no VPN, but on the Flint 2 I can’t get it to access the internet WAN locally the apps all work but externally obviously not.
I have put a few screen shots of the DVR showing the ports needed, but when you have A VPN does that need to be selected on my original post I tried a 3 different combinations none worked I also tried with the VPN client disabled and also disable Block Non-VPN Traffic all works obviously but not the DVR, hope I’ve explained it enough.
I have just found my old Billion out of the loft so I will set it up and see if it works with the DVR as it has a built in UPnP I will post when I get results
Ok I fired up my old Billion router which has UPnP and this is what the DVR reported picture attached.
So port forwarding should show valid I would guess.
There may be security issues with upnp but did you try to enable that in router?
no not sure how too
