Printer can't connect to Flint 2 (Mac filtering?)

As the title says, I have a flint 2 on the latest firmware, and my Epson printer cannot connect to it. It must be an issue with the router, because when connecting via phone hotspot, the printer is fine. However, when using main network or guest, it claims it is failing on the MAC filtering check. I have 0 MACs in my block list. I tried limiting the network to WPA2 only, 20 MHz only, restarting each network, the whole router, formatting printer, etc. I also disabled Adguard, VPN, parental controls, and any other restrictive setting. Oddly, it all worked a few months ago, and I do not recall making any changes. Is there any setting I'm not thinking of? Anything I can check in luci? I am at a loss and this printer has been an expensive paperweight for some time now.

Never heard of that, who claims to be failing - the printer? Don't trust printers, they are the worst.

Yes, the printer. I cannot see anything in the logs of the router to suggest its connecting or being blocked, etc.

But again, it worked before, and also works via hotspot, so I am confused

had similar issue with my Canon printer/scanner. Had to create additional WiFi ssid via LuCi and only then it worked

Why? Just ban them from WAN in LuCi…

No, it was more like „Dont trust them, when they tell you the cause for the issue is XY“

Where is the error coming from? Are you getting the during windows installation setup (WiFi) or are you getting the error on the printer when joining the SSID

So have you setup the printer to talk to your phones hotspot SSID? that could be the issue or maybe you mean you are connecting to the printers WiFi direct feature which is actually a SSID that the printer broadcasts and obviously that would directly talk / print.

I get the error when joining the SSID. Primarily, my wifi is from my ISP. Separately, I tested connecting my printer to my hotspot to see if it would work, which it did, which leads me to believe there is a hang up with the Flint 2/ISP setup. I also connected my computer to my hotspot temporarily, was able to add/print from printer. Wifi Direct for some reason does not work with my computer. It claims a driver error, despite having latest ones.

I'm sure I read somewhere that a user needed to enable all the bands on the radio on his router as something wasn't connecting, so maybe this is the issue here.

So as a test, do the following:

Disable your 5ghz band on the flint and just have a 2.4ghz channel, stick to 1,6 or 11 channel with a width of 20mhz. Keep the password simple to test with literally just something like: testing123456 and ensure all the WiFi standards are showing on the "WiFi modes" if you have the option to change the WPA version then change that to WPA2, now try and connect the printer to the flint SSID

Also it's possible it could be related to these two features

1. Repeater

1.1 Enhanced security with randomized MAC addresses for SSIDs

3. Wireless
3.1 Enhanced Privacy with Randomized BSSID Feature

I'm not sure what firmware you are running of even if this feature has now been implemented on the flint 2 as unfortunately I don't have one and my brume 2 doesn't have any WiFi settings to cross reference either.

So maybe if you dig around in the settings you might come across something about this.
