Thank you so much for your help, support, and for providing all this information!

  1. Please keep the Telekom SIM card inserted. Please reverting to R17 capability for Mudi7.
  1. Please place the Mudi7 in a fixed location where the issue was reproducible. If the issue can be reproduced at home, that would be ideal (as it relates to point #2).
  2. Please connect the Mudi7 to a wired network (setting the Mudi7’s Ethernet port to WAN mode), or repeater connects to your home Wi-Fi. This is to ensure a stable GoodCloud remote connection.
Since the modem will need to reconnect and re-register during the remote verification process, a secondary and stable internet connection is required to maintain remote access to the Mudi7.
  3. Please share your Mudi7 with us via GoodCloud, please enable Enable Remote SSH and Enable Remote Web Access
Technical Support via GoodCloud - GL.iNet Router Docs 4
  4. Please PM me your router MAC address and the Admin Panel password.

Many thanks!

Hey Bruce,

I send you the details per PM.

I put back to R17, The mudi is setup in my home and I have here the known problems, cellular is not working right now. Perfect for testing it.

I conneted to my home router per ethernet and it’s online over ethernet and visible in goodcloud. Take your time, I can leave it somedays like that. No problem at all.

Thanks

+1, please let us know the results soon, thanks.

I have had a similar situation

  1. The eSIM (A1 Bulgaria) did not want to register
  2. Blocked B1/B3 band, afterwards the eSim has registered, but had only 4G
  3. Rolled back and unblocked B1/B3, rebooted
  4. Device works without any hurdles - 5G with download/upload speeds of 750/150 mbit/s

Just to confirm: when the A1 eSIM fails to register, blocking B1/B3 will allow to connect to 4G, and then unblocking B1/B3 allows to connect to 5G?

That’s a bit strange. Is this 5G network NSA or SA?"

Hi there. I have the same problems in Greece, with 2 of the 3 Mobile Providers in the country.

  1. Cosmote 5G works out of the box without any changes

  2. NOVA and Vodafone 5G have similar problems stated as above from other users.

None of my workarounds and trial tests worked and all APN settings are correct.

I am willing to let you connect to my Mudi 7 to find the actual problems.
Just tell me how to set it up with my home internet connection (via Ethernet cable).

Thank you

They do provide both NSA and SA. I was setting the device while i was in roaming. Initial problem was registering the eSIM.

Connection failed...
eSIM unregistered. Please check in eSIM Management whether the eSIM profile is enabled or requires Top-up , or contact your eSIM provider to confirm any special restrictions, and verify that the APN settings are correct. Current APN:
http://internet.a1.bg

Blocking B1/B3 helped the eSIM to get register correctly. I believe 5g might have worked also with blocked, but since it registered correctly - I unblocked them.

I will PM you and send you the firmware to test whether the new solution can solve your issue.

Hello @xarisathos
Thanks for the feedback. To help us better analysis this issue, kindly pls:

  1. Connect the Mudi 7 to the internet using an Ethernet cable. The Ethernet port on the Mudi 7 is set to LAN by default. Please go to the screen board -> More -> Ethernet Port, change it to WAN, and then connect it to your home internet.
  2. Bind the device to Goodcloud and share it with us through Goodcloud following the instructions below:

Well, everything is properly set up and shared via GoodCloud, and the device appears to be working fine. It is currently connected through Starlink. Although it reports an “unstable network connection,” the connection itself has actually been very stable.

I have installed two SIM cards:

  • SIM1 = NOVA GR 5G

  • SIM2 = Vodafone GR 5G

However, I am not sure whether the indoor signal conditions can provide a stable 5G connection for the Mudi 7. My smartphone and other 5G modems usually work fine in the same location, although speeds are relatively low (around 30 Mbps).

NOVA offers unlimited data, but I cannot leave this SIM active permanently since it is my primary phone number. Please test it first.

Vodafone has limited data remaining (approximately 2 GB left until 30/05/2026), so please keep that in mind while testing, as the available time/data is limited.

I will keep the setup running as long as necessary, but I would appreciate it if the issue could be resolved as soon as possible.

Some additional information I forgot to include:

I registered on GoodCloud using the same email address I use on this forum, so it should be easy to identify my account.

Both 5G networks connect indoors using low-frequency bands only, typically around 700–900 MHz maximum. This is because I live on a hill outside the city, and my house has very thick stone walls.

When I have direct line-of-sight visibility toward the nearby city, the network switches to the higher-speed bands (roughly 1800–2600 MHz, if I recall correctly — possibly bands such as N1/N3/N78, although I am not entirely sure). Under those conditions, I can achieve very high 5G speeds, around 500–800 Mbps. So please do not be discouraged if you cannot find better-performing bands indoors.

If necessary, I can try relocating the Mudi 7 to a better position for signal reception. However, in that location I do not have Ethernet internet access, so the device would rely entirely on the 5G network (either NOVA or Vodafone) for remote connectivity.

I also have a COSMOTE 5G SIM with unlimited data, but I removed it from SIM1 because it is currently the only 5G network in Greece that works out-of-the-box with the Mudi 7 without any connectivity issues. In my experience, it is also the best cellular network in Greece.

Using the COSMOTE SIM, I could move the Mudi 7 to a location with much better signal quality. However, before doing that, I would first like to have the NOVA and Vodafone connections properly tested and resolved while using the current indoor Ethernet (Starlink) connection.

I hope everything above makes sense. If you need any additional information, please let me know.
If you need anything else, please let me know!

Regards,
Xaris

I have the same problem in Poland. Changing to R15 doesn’t work. It’s a bummer that 5G travel router doesn’t have possibility to work in 5G mode out of the box. Especially because I bought it as a product in regular sell with full price, not pre sell as early bird or beta tester.

Do we have any ETA when to expect firmware update to fix the issue?

Dear Bruce & Cathy,

I am using MUDI7 in UK and I’m experiencing issues with SIM registration, battery charging and poor connection speeds with O2 & EE SIMs. Also, Ethernet data transmission speeds are poor. I had great hopes for this device as a Photographer requiring high data speeds to send images. However, I’ve had problem after problem with MUDI7. I would welcome remote diagnostics assistance from Gli.net if you still need UK based testers.

@gcs62 I’ve used the Ubigi eSIM without any issues. It took a few minutes to register but has worked reliably since then. I also have a physical Vodafone sim which is fine. Both worked in France last weekend.

Anyone in the UK had any success with eSIM? I’ve tried 2 or 3, all register ok and work for a very brief period, then stop and get the interface connected but no internet message.

I’ve tried locking to supported carriers and

Getting a bit frustrated with it now, as the eSIM functionality was the main buying point. I’ve been onto support and shared via good cloud, but still it doesn’t work.

Just interested to hear about other uk users?

Hello, may I know your sim card operator? Is it using the Poland Orange network? I've send you a test firmware, please check the message and upgrade the router to see if there is any inproment.

Perhaps we can perform a remote diagnosis. Could you share your device with us via Goodcloud to troubleshoot your issues?

Hello! Thank you for the message. My SIM card operator in Poland is Play. I will check the update shortly and let you know about the results
