Slate 7 / GL-BE3600: Wifi dropping

I just received my Slate 7 yesterday, and already three times, the Wi-Fi signal has completely dropped randomly (the SSID becomes unavailable).

I woke up this morning with the same issue: no device is connected to the Wi-Fi anymore, so I tried to activate the 5GHz Wi-Fi via the touchscreen. The same issue: the SSID is still not available even on 5GHz (I only had the MLO Wi-Fi activated before that).
The only solution to this issue so far is to reboot the router.

My router is connected to the internet via repeater mode.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Hi, Ekami
Thanks for your report, please export the log, and share it with us.

Here it is, I was able to extract it by connecting via Ethernet before I reboot it.
It keeps happening, I'm considering returning it.

Hi, Ekami
It detects the dfs signal and triggers channel backoff. This firmware has adjusted the DFS detection sensitivity. Please try installing it on your BE3600 to see if channel backoff is still triggered.

Thanks for this quick reply. I'll install the firmware.
Is this firmware intended for the main channel at some point, or has it been compiled only for my router for testing?

I'm getting " Error The URL doesn't have the correct format." when I click on your link

Please click here to download the test firmware

@bruce @cjc I just installed it and now I have a super slow internet... I used to get around 250mbps and now it hovers around 3.5mbps (via Wifi or Ethernet)...
I'd like to revert back to a stable firmware, could you tell me how I can get around the issue of channel backoff with dfs on the stable firmware?

Thanks!

This test firmware is only used for testing of DFS issues. Does the issue recur after installing this test firmware?

I didn't get any wifi disconnection so far since I installed the firmware

Please upgrade back to 4.7.1 firmware and follow the steps below to replace the BDF file and test again to see if it works properly:

  1. Download WinSCP tool
  2. Log in to the device backend, select NewSite, select SCP for file protocol, enter the device hostname, username
and Password (page password), and click Login
  3. Select the /lib/firmware/qcn6432/ folder on the right and delete the original bdwlan.b0060 file

4.Copy the new bdwlan.b0060 file to the /lib/firmware/qcn6432/ folder, then restart using the reboot command or by clicking on the page. Do not power off router to restart.
5.After restarting, check the md5 value of bdwlan.b0060. If the value is as follows, the replacement is successful.

Replaced bdwlan.b0060:
bdwlan.zip (6.2 KB)

@cjc @bruce The wifi dropped again with the Alpha firmware. I've attached the logs.
logread.tar (289.5 KB)

bdwlan.zip (4.5 KB)
Please replace bdwlan.b0060 test in the current test firmware (unzip first)
Modified the dfs detection sensitivity of 160MHz bandwidth

Ok... I guess I'm an alpha tester now...
