It's huge for a travel router, :scream:

It reminds me of the Brume MV1000w

Have they released hardware specs??

I wonder the same thing because it’s time already

flint 3 leaks are missing lol

It huge, look the Beryl AX on the side. It's almost not viable for a portable device.

I miss the OG Slate...

It's a bit bulkier than the Slate AXT1800. We can't have everything, they are probably facing thermal issues in such a compact design and new tech as wifi7. I'm really happy they listened to us about ideas like the touchscreen. Let's see if it will be useful over time, but I have a good feeling about it.

It's still tiny enough to take it with you. I mean, it's not larger than a notebook charger.
Not all people are like backpackers going through the mountains with just a tent.

I would even say that most people don't care whether it's 2 cm larger or not.

Being substantially larger than Beryl AX, it's really pushing it to call this a 'travel router.'

I understand that newer wifi standards (wifi 5, 6, 7) do drive some increase in physical size, as does increased power consumption by the SoC over older designs.

Presumably this one will have a fan; I'm not super thrilled with moving parts in a router type device, but so far the fans in my existing GLi products aren't making noise (and don't spin up much).

I'm switching from a Brume 2 to a NanoPi R5S as my edge router in a few days, both passively cooled, will be interesting to see how hot each gets under load. (Nothing against Brume 2, but I need a faster CPU for Tailscale.)

When I bought my Slate AX it was just enough larger than the Beryl AX that I had to buy a difference travel case for it. Size matters. lol

Flint 3 is massive!

That's what I said

It should be. WiFi 7 is really hot, bigger heat sink.

Well, it seems there's a slate 7 under the Puli (GL-XE300). So, it seems just 1cm larger then puli, possible 13cm x 85, a little bigger then Slate AX. (like @emmgr23 said above)

What do you carry for a notebook charger? My notebook charger is smaller then my AR300M.

If you travel full time, and you have 23KG limit for everything, size, weight, power is important.

I agree. GL iNet went the wrong way with the Slate 7. There is no way I'm going to lug that thing around. For now, I will stick with my original Slate.

I would be interested to hear how the R5S works out for you. Size wise, the R5C is more in line with what I am looking for in a replacement for my Slate.

I think the size is still compact, the difference between the Slate and and the Beryl AX is not that much and for the most part it’s the screen’s fault.

To me is funny because sometimes I travel with bigger objects that I simply don’t end up using so this size isn’t an issue to me
