Hey, I've bought flint 3 and I have subpar wired speeds.
When connected directly modem to PC it's about 700Mb/s.
When through flint 3 it's about 300Mb/s. I didn't change any settings, flint 3 is on newest FW, both cables are 1000Mb/s.
Rebooting with cables unplugged did not help.
Hi,
-
Please try to change the Flint3 Ethernet 2 to WAN mode and Ethernet 1 to LAN (reverse each other) and check again.
-
How about the speed of Flint3 wireless network?
-
Try to enable IPv6 function of Flint3
-
Disable hardware acceleration (I saw you mentioned in reddit, ignore this)
-
SSH to router, and execute:
opkg update
opkg install python3-speedtest-cli
speedtest-cli
- Flint3 switches to AP mode, PC wired connection to LAN port, how about the wired speed of PC?
Hi @bruce. I’m having the same issue as the OP. With all default configurations I get approx. 150 Mbps down on wired and wireless, but if I plug my PC directly into my modem I get my full speed of 300 Mbps. I tried the things you suggest and here’s the results:
- Changing Ethernet2 to WAN and Ethernet1 to LAN: Flint3 was not even able to connect to the internet through my modem.
- Flint 3 wireless speed is the same as wired
- Enable IPv6: no change to speeds
- Disable hardware acceleration: no change to speeds
- speedtest-cli via SSH: 85 Mbps… even worse than on my PC through my browser
- Switch Flint 3 to AP mode: 300 Mbps (full speed) through a wired connection to my PC but I cannot connect to WiFi at all
My Flint 3 is on firmware v. 4.8.3. My PC has a gigabit NIC (Intel 1219-V). All cables & patch panels in my house are Cat 6.
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
