Spitz AX GL-X3000 - No longer boots

Hello,

Truly sorry, please contact our support team support@gl-inet.com via email, please let us try to check it.

Two points.

1). It had been 15 months since purchase when my unit failed. GL-iNet Support took care of me and replaced my unit (GL-X3000). I believe it had a 1 year warranty, so big thumbs up to support!

2). I’ve noticed that the replacement unit doesn’t run nearly as hot as the original, leading me to believe that had something to do with the failure.

How long is amazon returned window? I had this router for 10months and amazon gave me a return option and I bought a new one myself, waiting for a refund now.

Hi,
I contacted GL-iNet and they asked me to update to 4.7.4 betta using uboot method and it worked for me.
Now my router works and it survived two reboots.
I wonder when will we have a fix in the stable version for this.

I just want to come back here and give some credit to the GL.iNet support team - they swapped my Spitz AX to fix the problem with a brand new one, a full 20 months or something after I bought it (from their Amazon store).

Obviously, it's unfortunate it happened in the first place, but I was glad to at least get working hardware. The other one I have (one runs my office, the other my camper van) still seems to be fine for now - fingers crossed there's a proper software fix for it soon.

Are we any closer to finding what the problem is or why this is happening?

Hello everyone, I am new to the community and I had a similar experience with mine, I just went through a similar (if not exact) to the situation almost all of you are having. Unfortunately I bought mine last year through Ebay as a second hand so obviously bricking it was not an option, no replacement for me as I didn't buy it through an official channel. I will post my complete situation and how I got it working back again. Maybe it helps one of you.

This is the exact mail I sent to support service after I finally made it boot up. FYI I did NOT install any firmware to make it boot and the two times I tried to reset it was completely off albeit connected to the power so when it turned on I didn't loose my settings.

Hi there.

I recently bought an INIU power bank with PD charging and a wide compatibility with 12v and different amperage including the 2.5 to 3A (USBC 2 supports up to 36w 12v 3A) that the original power supply provides to pair with my Puli AX3000. It was working fine as a mobile router.

I´ve worked a bit with electronics and I know that a bit extra of amperes won't hurt the device as long as I match the voltage. But I just came back home and it was off, only the power LED was active and it looked bricked. I disconnected it, reconnected and everything was off (picture attached) even with the original power supply.

After a lot of connecting and disconnecting, the LED came back, I tried the reset button process but nothing. After continuing connecting and disconnecting it to the powerbank I got bored so I tried the higher wattage port. It supports up to 65 W on USB C 1 (12V 3A, 15V 3A, 20V 3.25 A), it turned on, I connected to the wifi and when I got into the Glinet portal suddenly it turned off. I reconnected it, it turned on and I activated 5ghz wifi (I usually only keep 2.4 Ghz active for better coverage) and right after I enabled it it turned off, again.

I didn't disconnect it, it booted itself up and now it is working so I don't know what could have triggered this.

Recent changes:

  1. I recently did the beta upgrade 4.7.4 from February 13th

  2. Yesterday I enabled the "Accept Preview Plan" option and it updated itself like usual.

Could these have affected the stability of the system? What would you recommend to stop this?

PS: As a reminder, when it was "bricked" the router never turned up with the original power supply, the reconnection was through the power bank only as it was the only connection that could trigger the power LED on.

This was what happened to me. Sincerely I doubt that using the power bank could have made it have this problem as it has worked flawlessly these past few days and maybe it was the last update that affected it. Also, after reading how problematic this issue is and how lucky I was to get mine working I do believe that either mine just saved itself from going to the trash or the extra juice that it could have gotten from the power bank made it go into a boot process with more energy to go through it (some sort of overclock because of the extra power? Crazy suposition) Still, mine is back online, working flawlessly as it always had and that is why I felt bad. Only the ones who have bought this router know how much of a beast it is and how reliable it is as well.

It's my first post in the community, long post but maybe someone out there will find something good out of it.
