Because none of the other 30 currently supported models can be used in an RV.

And most of those do not have a cellular modem in them. SourMilk indeed.

Most routers provides USB-C power. Which is suitable for travel in general. But the Spitz series provides power input from 9 to 36 Volt, which is a perfect fit for RV and boat board electric.

And in addition to the somewhat expensive Spitz AX, the Spitz Plus is a welcome budget version for the occasional travelers.

And yes, I am aware there are power converters 12V to USB-C ... If you want to lose valuable battery capacity in heat, go for it.

One would be crazy to spend any money on one of their LTE routers after the long list of people here with a completely bricked Spitz AX after a recent firmware update. Thanks, but no thanks.

I see you don't like it, that is your choice obviously. But what does your comment have to do with my comment back to SourMilk? They seem completely unrelated.

I was pointing out that their flagship one with the cellular modem that you appeared to put head and shoulders above their other routers is actually not all it's cracked up to be and I would rather stick with ones that have no cellular modem but at least don't cost the earth before ending up as a door stopper. It is also nothing to do with me not liking it but the fact that reliability has been a major issue. Have you seen this?

I bet GL.iNET have not put this as part of their advertisement!

How did I do any of that? You are putting words into my mouth that are not there. Re-read the OP comment and then what I said. No one was talking about the Spitz AX. They said how is this router different than 30 others GL makes. I said most of their other routers don't have a cellular modem. How is that twisted into what you think I said?

Currently been using the Spitz 3000 in our motorhome over the last year. It has proven to be the best router I have ever bought (including unifi routers). Also had a few of their travel routers in the past. All have been excellent.
