hi, @lizh@alzhao@admon@staff
Yesterday i have received new GL-X3000. but, having some problems with this CPE...
i have 3 tapo devices at my home that was connected with ZTE MC801A and was working fine locally and online both..
But, After replace ZTE MC801A with GL-X3000 with same sim all tapo devices stopped working.. always show orange light on all tapo devices. i already do many times factory reset tapo device and connect with GL-X3000 but same problem.. not connect with internet. only work locally.. means wifi connected with tapo hub, also see tapo hub device in online Clients list of gl-inet router page. .
internet is working fine with pc,mobiles, tv..etc without any issue.
But, if i connect tapo hub with ZTE CPE with same sim then working fine and light show green on tapo hub. this issue also happening with 2 tapo smart plug.
On tp-link forum some one post :
"only be controlled locally may be due to the special settings of the router/modem, such as Firewall, Access Control, etc.,"
How to solve this tapo devices not working issue with GL-X3000? why this happening only with GL-inet CPE??
I'm not familiar with the Tapos. In fact I hate such (cloud-based) cameras a hateful hate. I just don't trust them.
Does this camera require any ports to be forwarded or is it totally cloud based? Check port forwarding on the old router.
Did you enable UPnP on the old router that allowed the cameras to open ports as needed? Check the old router.
I have a GL-X3000 connected to my local cell carrier along with a Tapo H200 (hub), D230 (doorbell), three C420 (cameras), two T310 and two T315 (temperature/humidity sensors), and two T300 (water leak sensors). I do not have Tapo care (cloud storage). Everything works fine, whether I access Tapo from my LAN or remotely when I am away from home.
I will note that Tapo did have some issues yesterday (July 27, 2024) with their notification relay. My H200 was blinking red/green throughout the day although I was still able to access (via LAN and remotely). However, notifications were not working. Everything appears to be fine today.
I've never had an H100 hub, so I don't know the specifics, but my best advice is to completely reset it and re-pair it to your new network. Alternatively, as prompted by the error message you posted, you may have a DNS issue - I have no issue how you have setup either your ZTE or X3000; its very possible that you are using different DNS servers.
DNS changes not effect. already try cloudflare and google dns.
After some some tests. I found that when I switch to 4G then tapo works fine. not work when switching to 5G SA only.
I use jio (India) sim. and jio 5G is ipv6 only internet..
But, if I use the same sim with a 115USD cheap ZTE MC801A device, then tapo works fine on both 4G and 5G SA only. but sadly it does not work with a 450 USD device.
i use tapo H100, and it's successfully connected via wifi with GL-X3000 and work fine over wifi with tapo app but not connect with tapo server via internet so can't access over internet.
Please try to check all logs, try to reset the H100, maybe even try to reset the router. That's all I can say without having those devices for further troubleshooting. Maybe GL staff knows more, they will be online again tomorrow.
