Upgrade Mudi V2 with 5G

Hi Everyone, I got a Mudi V2 from Alibaba. While placing the order I was not asked about the 4G module and the seller send a LTE CAT4 Modem version which is super slow considering use with a VPN.

I would like experts here to help me upgrade the router to 5G with RM520N 5G modem.

  2. The power supply to the E750V2 may not support the 5G module
  3. The E750V2 has only two 4G antennas

Is it possible to remove the battery maybe and connect an external power bank all the time and update the drivers along with replacing with a 5G module? with the EM05-G CAT4 modem and slow internet on 4G the new router is of no use to me unfortunately and only way to make it useful is to upgrade it to a higher speed modem.

I would say the answer of @ywp is more like: Technically maybe yes, but no.

Without 5G antennas, it won't be helpful anyway.

I found one related topic here Upgrade GL-E750 Mudi(v2) with RM520N-GL Someone did exactly this but wasn't able to make the SIM card work.

Maybe driver support is required. If someone has tried this already can you share your findings?
