I managed to connect to the physical esim seed profile(it connected to Bouygues this time), but Orange esim would still not work, even after select QCM and inputting Orange APN settings. Why doesnt it work? At the beginning of this topic Orange Travel is advertised as working.
Could you provide the system logs for the Orange SIM card setup? Or share device with GL.iNet through Goodcloud so that we can take a look?
Hi. I just did. Waiting for you now.
Hi,
We found the cause of problem. In FW v4.3.x, it might need to reboot the modem after switching eSIM profile for it to work. Versions after 4.3.x (e.g v4.7) do not have this problem.
For your device, we‘ve adjusted the router settings and fix it, so you can directly switch profile and use it without extra operation.
I have problem with www.pingwe.com service and E750v2.
Your esim card - eiot club.
Card downloads succesfully and works for few minutes.
After few minutes something changes and imsi changing to all 99999....
I can download esim profile once again and the problem will be the same after few minutes...
When im moving card from modem to phone profile works well without any issues.
After download it looks ok aslo:
What can be a problem?
Configuration - internet / apn:
Hi @seal
the IMSI may change due to eSIM provider behavior or an abnormal eSIM profile.
- please access the esim management page to check if esim profile is still enabled
- go to the AT Command page and execute this AT command to check the modem status and the sim card status:
AT+COPS?;+CREG?;+CFUN?;+QCCID;+CIMI - it's also advised to contact the esim provider to confirm the esim profile status and check for any device restrictions.
@Cathy: e sim profile is still active , i was talking with operator - he don't have any restrictions. Card in Samsung Phone and Huawei Modem works.
Command output:
+COPS: 1
+CREG: 0,2
+CFUN: 0
+QCCID: 8943108170005572453F
232104070557245
OK
But card not register to the network at all. On LCD i have "No service".
EDIT:
After few minutes started, i will check if it will be permanent.
+COPS: 0,0,"Plus Carrier",7
+CREG: 0,5
+CFUN: 1
+QCCID: 8943108170005572453F
232104070557245
after modem reboot imsi changed, profile selected still the same:
Command:
AT+COPS?;+CREG?;+CFUN?;+QCCID;+CIMI;+CSQ;+QENG="servingcell"
+COPS: 0
+CREG: 0,2
+CFUN: 1
+QCCID: 8943108170005572453F
999999999999999
+CSQ: 28,99
+QENG: "servingcell","SEARCH"
OK
Everything works now as expected, thank you!
I still got a couple questions now though:
1 - The firmware, I understand 4.3.26 is the latest stable release for Mudiv2 , while 4.7 is experimental? Is it advised to use 4.7 ?
2 - I bought a new unit, the same as the other one, does it have to be setup again like you did before? If so, maybe you can share the actual commands to be used on it?
Thanks!
Yes, v4.7 is experimental. It's advised to use the stable v4.3.26.
For the new device, you can reboot the modem after switching esim profile. Afterward, configure the correct APN and start the cellular connection. Esim can work properly by this way as well.
Hi, please help to check whether imsi will change when using the seed profile.
Could you share your device with GL.iNet so that we can remotely debug the issue? As per the following tutorial:
@Cathy i don't see my seed profile on esim, it looks like disappeared or i mistaken deleted.
Usually the seed profile is listed on the eSIM Management page. There is no option to delete the seed profile on the router end.
Could you bind your device to Goodcloud and share with us to check the modem status and the esim status?
I will prepare and send you PM when done.
Any update on compatible US mobile physical esim card for purchase? @Hoff
myself @doczenith1 @noah @rickyleung12 @Shannon @lippert09 and I assume many others are eager to hear any news or updates. Thank you!
Confirmed Compatibility
The EIOT Club Physical eSIM is confirmed to work with US Mobile on both AT&T and T-Mobile networks.
Configuration Settings for AT&T and T-Mobile via US Mobile
- Protocol: QCM
- Port:
/dev/mhi_QMIO - APN:
ereseller - PIN: Not applicable
- TTL: Set to 65
- HL: Set to 65
- MTU: 1500
Verizon Compatibility (In Progress)
Currently troubleshooting Verizon activation via US Mobile. It appears Verizon may use a database that cross-references EID and IMEI, which is causing the following error when attempting to download eSIM data:
"EID is not the same between reservation and request"
I'm working with Verizon support to explore the possibility of manually adding my EID to their system to bypass this issue. Will share updates once resolved.
No that's not correct to my knowledge .Please read this entire thread. GL.inet staff @Hoff states it's not compatible with the current physical esim card and they're coming out with a new physical esim card that is compatible with Us mobile.
All of my mentions are with commenters asking when the new physical esim version that is compatible with Us mobile will be out or having issues with the physical esim card on us mobile.
I just tried to download a esim profile for darkstar (AT&T) the other day to the physical esim I purchased from GL.inet with my android phone. It wouldn't download.
It's possible you know something I don't. If that's true please lmk.
Interesting—what I did differently was skip using a phone entirely to download the profile to the physical eSIM. Instead, I logged directly into the GL-X3000 router, navigated to Applications > eSIM Management, clicked Add eSIM Profile, captured a screenshot of the QR code from US Mobile, uploaded it, and then initiated the profile download from there
Thank you for all the info. I'll give it a go and provide an update. But I think you're the first person on at least this thread that has got it working on the physical esim.
You're welcome! Feel free to reach out if you run into any issues—happy to help!
I just tried this method and had the same 90% pause issue. I asked USMobile to re-provision the eSIM in order to try again, since it would complain that the profile has already been downloaded. The second attempt I waited ~30 minutes. There was some message but it closed too quickly to read. I have now switched to try to use the physical SIM kit.
