My original firmware version was RM520NGLAAR01A07M4G. After updating to RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G, I faced internet instability issues. then i installed the latest firmware, RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_01.205.01.205, and haven't experienced a single disconnect in the past two days.
I downloaded this firmware from this link:
I tested multiple R03 and R01 firmware versions, and in my case, I found that R01 firmware versions are provide stable internet comprare to R03.
all firmware tested with GL.inet firmware version:
0413release2
Thanks, unfortunately I have tried this twice now and the modem upgrade process hangs at 60% each time. I was wondering have you encountered this?
Thanks you. Unfortunately that fails too but it seems I'm already on the same version as you? I will do some stability tests now to see if i still have the dropped connection issue
i am using same version since 3 day. no single disconnect yet.
Hi @liamfoneill @mdpatel in view of the instability of the R03 version, we are advancing Quectel analysis, perhaps R03 has modified some configuration items, resulting in frequent network disconnection, please use R01 first, and I will share the results with you immediately. Thanks!
Ive been suggesting R01 for a long time and it is indeed much stable even in our own standalone setup compared to R03 branch.
Does anyone actually know the difference between R01 and R03?
FWIW, my router came with RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_01.205.01.205 and it's been faultless....so far!
