I don't know why "rejected". But it should just be a plain email.

I used Google Chrome with Windows 11 fully patched.
The rejected email I send you by private message.
Yes because the newer U-Boot uses a slower speed to read the emmc of the three devices.
very disappointing to hear
I guess this is not a real problem because once Brume2 is online, we don't need to reboot it anymore. I just reboot my devices (Flint2, Brume2, BerylAX) when I update them.
How slow they are now (2 seconds, 20 seconds)? And how many times do you reboot them in one month?
significant slower. I remember my Brume 2 boot in like 10 seconds or so before, now it takes like 30 seconds or so.
Uboot update looks to me like an quick fix for these devices .. as mentioned on openwrts forum, its not stable using an mt2500 with openwrt for now..
I think we're going to have to make a custom uboot for the MT2500 for Openwrt, just like the X3000 and MT6000 have.
Worth continuing this discussion on the Openwrt forums
I managed to update the uboot on a X3000. Had to get a usb-c compatible ethernet dongle to update software of my ... wireless ... router, but okay. It did work. All configuration settings also remained.
Booting a second time into uboot mode shows the new version. Havent found another way to retrieve the version?
However having upgraded the firmware using the "online update" method, its not clear to me if I have the latest 4.7.4 firmware. Why isn't the firmware version printed in the same way that it is being referred to in documentation?
Should I read this as being:
Major version: 4
Sub version: .07.04 r5
Being 4.7.4 r5 when all combined?
That is correct. It sounds like your problem was your wireless only laptop, not a wireless router lol.
Hello, I have XE3000 with this Software Version. Do I still have to do this uboot update? I am confused. I paid 600€ for this device, why doesn´t it fix everything with an automatic software update?:
I have just attepted to update my MT2500A and although the page said Update Succesful, the router never rebooted (waited good portion of an hour), noted the LED light was out as well before touching it. Device does not come up on boot and no LED on subsequent attempt. Tried to get to uboot again with reset etc. Device clearly bricked. It's our main router so not too pleased at all with this experience. Hope Customer Service can get me sorted asap.
Is this the software version you received it with out of the box?
Would be great if someone from glinet could list the earliest software version which included the fix from factory for all the devices.
As they set wrong parameters for the flash this requires a bootloader update, so an 'automatic' software update is no option.

Have had no response from customer service, can you advise normal response times? My MT-2500A is bricked from UBOOT flash and it's my primary router so out of service.

Customer service in touch, RMA being escalated.
Hello,
Please let me know the router MAC address, or please enter the router uboot mode and share the uboot page screenshot.
Was it 10 seconds or so before? I didn't know it was that fast.
3x difference is definitely significant, but 30 seconds or so still seems pretty fast to me.
Even the switches in my home take minutes to boot up, and TP-Link routers often have 10+ minutes of downtime to apply ACL rule changes in controller mode.
Anyway it's a frustrating situation and I haven't upgraded or rebooted yet since this issue was disclosed. But for me at least that change doesn't seem like a big deal.
Thanks for sharing!
Plan on buying one from Walmart. Are those already updated? Are you no longer producing the GL-X3000? Thanks
Currently X3000 is on sale.
After you receive it, please check the firmware version.
If it is v4.7.4 or newer, no need to manually update uboot.
If the version is lower than v4.7.4, uboot needs to be updated.
If you have any questions about uboot updates, please contact [email protected].
OH WELL, ANOTHER BRICKED BRUME 2 AFTER UBOOT BOOTLOADER UPLOAD!
I used Microsoft Edge on Windows 11, and the /uboot.html link. Router advised that the upload of the small UBOOT file was successful and upgrade complete. Then after a few moments the blue LED went away and now both LED's are just flashing alternately. Unplugged and plugged back in and still both LED's just flash alternately.
