There is a bug in Beta and Snapshot firmware. The Network Storage seems to be half the speed on them compared to the 4.6.0-op24 2024-06-07 build.
On snapshot and beta I get ~50MB/s transfer vs 107MB/s on op24 build.
I'm connecting via Samba

Would you please share where did you get recent Op24 snapshot?
I am still having bad wifi speed using op24 version beta (upgrade from 4.5.6, and didn't keep the configuration)
5GHz speed: short range and poor wifi performance - within 1 meter already disconnect, router is place inside a room. Try different kind of configuration, channel, etc, all the same behavior.
2.4GHz: I am getting constantly 35Mbps, signal is great (always full bar in a double storey house) but speed is bad. Try 20/40, 40, different channel still the same.
Local LAN: 500Mbps full speed (as per my ISP package)
Any idea how to troubleshoot further?
It's not really recent

Updated today to 4.6.2 Beta (28/06/2024).
The Flash Drive is not recognized anymore.
There is no error or record in the log when removing and reattaching it to the USB port.
Guys, why do things that were working just fine stop working when you release a new firmware?
Fix broken things and don't touch things that are working fine, please.
Could you please run dmesg
after plugging the stick in?
It's like the USB Port is totally useless:
Before removing it:

The curse of the snapshot firmware. You know that you shouldn't actually use it.
Wow, ok. In that case... somebody should have a look.
(@bruce)
Is the snapshot firmware based on OP24 ? and if not, which OpenWRT version is the snapshot based on ?
IS the OpenWRT 24 section the only OpenWRT 24 Firmware dated 07-06-2024 which is basically Beta 4 ? ive been running this firmware since they first released it and never had any issues with it myself, but if the snapshot is not OP24, then they seemed to have forgotten about it.
BUG REPORT:
Firmware: 4.5.8
way to reproduce:
AP Isolation for guest network turned on
manually add local device on the network as DNS server for guest network (in my scenario, local Pihole server)
this results in DHCP server no longer gives addresses to the whole network
restarting router doesn't help
DHCP settings for guest network
start 192.168.9.100 (default)
end 192.168.9.249 (default)
dns server 1: 10.0.0.49 (local DNS Pihole server)
only way to connect to the router after applying the above,
is by assigning IP address manually,
and going to LAN DHCP settings - that are now empty
Hi all. I have a problem with my Flint 2.
It happens to me 4-5 times a week... When I try to modify or delete a file on my Seagate USB hard disk from a PC connected via LAN, the connection seems to be interrupted, making it impossible to delete or modify the file. I have to wait a few seconds and then the connection is re-established. This is what I see in the log..
Mt6000 fw 4.6.0 beta2
in 4.6.2 Release candidate 1 my non VPN DNS queries are going out to countries close to my VPN location.
in 4.6.2 beta 1 the behaviour was that all the country origins were from the UK, it was functioning perfectly.
VPN DNS works fine
4.6.2 beta 1 behaviour:
I assume that you are using encyrpted dns. Current the encrypted dns cannot be splited and has to go to either vpn or non-vpn.
If you want to split, do not use encrypted dns.
I'm not using encrypted DNS
Any details? e.g. what vpn, vpn policy are you using etc??
I'm using ProtonVPN through wireguard client with target domain / ip routing mode.
root@GL-MT6000:~# cat /etc/config/vpnpolicy

option kill_switch '0'
option wan_access '0'
