It was for sure new Google Home speaker I didn't tested others. On OP24, exactly same config all seems fine.
Is it the product shown at the following link?

Any comments on wifi performance on OP25 compared to 4.9.0?
I noticed a significant drop in wifi signal strength on 5GHz on OP24 4.9.0 compared to OP24 4.8.3 so rolled back.
I think it's because of country code of WiFi. I thinks since version 4.8.4 it assigns DE (Deutschland) as a country code and that's why your Wi-Fi signal is significantly worse. Try to change it to US (or any other country) and your wifi signal should be good as before.
FYI I set it to US (although I'm not there) and my wifi signal can go up to 70-80 meters from my home.
Hi, I was wondering-did you do a clean install or a dirty install?
I did a dirty upgrade, keeping all my settings while updating my MT6000 from OP24 4.8.3 to OP25 4.9.1.
Everything has been running smoothly so far. I haven't experienced any of the memory issues reported in this forum.
One additional change I made was upgrading AdGuard Home to v0.107.77.
I haven't experienced any Wi-Fi issues. My upload and download speeds are exactly the same as before.
What settings are you using for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands in LuCI?
I set my country code to GB which is where I am but I have also tried the default, DE.
2.4Ghz strength is identical to 4.8.3 OP 24 on 4.9.0.
Identical channels selected. Channel 1 for 2.4 and Channel 100 for 5GHz.
On 5Ghz something is amiss. I only get 175Mbps upstairs. In the same position, on the same device, same channel and same channel bandwidth. On OP24 4.8.3 I get 700Mbps. The signal using WiFi analyser is noticeably weaker.
On my ISP supplied router which has internal antennas, on CH100 I get 850Mbps, same position, same device. 160MHz.
Changing the country code to US reduces the 5Ghz strength compared to GB and DE on 4.8.3 but on 4.9.0, it makes no difference.
I’ll try flashing OP25 and report back my findings but I have a feeling I will be flashing back to OP24 4.8.3.
Personally I’m grateful and excited that the option to use newer firmware exists.
You didn’t have to upgrade to this, the stable release channel still exists. Have a little patience/tolerance (and read up on whata beta release means). This is for the people who want a much newer version of OpenWRT and want to be early adopters of it. It’s a 3 day old beta release.
It frustrates me to see comments like yours, because your complaint (bugs / stability) is the exact reason gl-inet gave as their reason for preferring to use older versions of OpenWRT. They warned about that. But acceded to the many community requests for newer versions.
Getting upset with them because their just-released op25 beta firmware is behaving like beta firmware (which they warned about) is not very constructive or fair. It’s one of the reasons companies like gl-inet are reluctant to move away from outdated but stable firmware versions. If you want stability choose the stable version, this release is for those intentionally wanting a newer version than the main stable release.
If you bothered to continue to read the thread I did apologise as I miss read it was a beta. It annoys me when people like you don’t bother to read the whole thread before posting. So that makes us both annoyed, nice one!
I have read the full thread, but I did miss your follow up comment. I apologies for reading too fast, and reigniting something you already apologized for.
So that makes us both annoyed
That’s fair. Let’s both try to do better next time.
Not sure if this is a bug but I cannot allow remote or SSH access to router using GoodCLoud as it does not give me the option to do so at all.
Tried disabling and then reenabling cloud access and also removing and rebinding device to no avail. The router is showing up as being connected on goodcloud’s dashboard.
I personally use Panama as the country code and set the transmit power for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz to the maximum available level. In my case, that is 33 dBm (1,995 mW) for 2.4 GHz and 32 dBm (1,584 mW) for 5 GHz. This setup has always worked very well for me.
I do the same, but I note that after updating from OP24-4.9.0 to OP25-4.9.1 it reset my 5 GHz power to 21dBm/125mW; I manually changed it to 30dbm/1000mw today.
@covenant Same here. Fortunately, it's only a minor issue. The setting is saved correctly and survives reboots once it's been configured.
Exactly
Do you need to reboot for the different power options to show up? My router has always been stuck on 20dBm which frustrates me because I live in the middle of nowhere and would appreciate the extra range
No. Changing Country Code should vary your maximum output. Using PA, I can get up to 32/1584mw on 5GHz.
I have tried that in the past and US too for a little more power 5GHz.
Have you tried the same on OP25 as on 4.9.0 it would not change for me, I was stuck at 20dBm?
