V1.7 Release 2 GLRM1

Can you try to see if setting a static IP without using DHCP will encounter this issue?

I am a bit confused now. If I override the USB device identifiers through the UI or with override.yaml then will the mic name not get changed? Will it remain as comet microphone?

How do we change the microphone name? If the microphone name cannot be changed it's a severe limitation.

Unable to modify the microphone name. This issue is caused by an older kernel version. Only RM1 is affected by this problem.

What about the PoE version. How to modify it there.

In the RM1 version it was being modified earlier so what has changed now? Also what if I override identifiers in override.yaml. I see it as logitech after upgrading to 1.7. is that a caching issue as I earlier used a pikvm with the same USB identifier

“logitech“ is cache. Different computers use different identifiers for the MIC name. Windows computers appear to read the MIC name, while Linux computers seem to only read the USB name. Currently, the web interface is configured with the USB name, and the MIC name is hardcoded in the kernel. POE mic name can be modified. Maybe the next version, an option to change the MIC/thumb drive name will likely be added in the identify section.

otg:
    devices:
        audio:
            product: Comet Microphone
    product_id: 2

you can modify it on 1.7.0 , and it should work on RM1PE/RM10. should be notice that you should also change VID/PID if your controlled pc is windows

In the example I provided a method to modify the pid, you need to change it to a new value, not 2.Every time you change the MIC name, you need to assign a different PID; otherwise, Windows computers will keep displaying the cached name.

  1. How to change mic name in poe version. Can you outline the steps please so that I can do it.
  2. Also I noticed in the poe version - on updating to 1.7 - the device shows up in device manager - turn on hidden devices as under USB r3xxx…why is this happening? Is that a rockchip identfier?

what you mean "turn on hidden devices“

Could be that it is the screen that stops updating. Confirming that page refresh resolves the issue entirely.

Please try to use Chrome whenever possible. Many optimizations are only compatible with Chrome. I'm aware of several performance issues with Firefox or Safari.

So does it mean that different names can be assigned to the keyboard and microphone?

If you open device manger in windows …on the top menu you can check hidden devices

This operation may cause unconnected devices to be displayed as well. It probably isn't caused by GLKVM.

It is the RM1PE

I’ll try it and I will see if it will happen again.

When the issue come up, are you convenient to locally access to the RM1PE and export the log to us?
Would greatly help us analyze the problem, sincerely appreciate that.

The export logs from the help button (explorer gui interface) will export the logs with the problem? Because for me to access the KVM i will have to reboot the device. Does it keep the previous logs?

The model is the RM1. Im setting to static IP today.

Not that I saw. I did a quick tour of the filesystem and didnt see anything persisting logs. There is syslog is installed but I didnt see the config file anywhere for remote logging.

We are still unable to reproduce this issue. However, the increasing number of similar reports has raised our suspicions about certain changes. Please test this firmware version.
