I can confirm, as customer, that is like that, you have the physical sim that allow you to load different profiles, I added, for example, the eSim from the big provider Vodafone, and it work perfect!
Do I understand correctly that the process looks like this:
-
Buy an physical eSIM card (adaptor) => eSIM - GL.iNet physical eSIM | Free 1GB for US/EU and 100MB global Dat
-
Select an eSIM provider (pay for the tariff) For example https://www.airalo.com/italy-esim or https://marketplace.esim.me/ or GL.iNet .
-
Download the eSIM profile to your phone or router (If the phone supports eSIM technology)
-
Start using.
I need 20-30Gb per month because I watch a lot of movies, how can I add it?
That is correct.
You can top-up your traffic by using the method that your eSIM provider provides ...
Thanks for your answer. Ok, what is the difference between physical eSIM card (adaptor) from Gl.iNet or other providers?
The one from GL works with GL hardware
Not sure about 3rd party cards.
Thank you for explaining and answering my questions.
Hello, Is it mudi GL-E750 v1 with EP06-E may have esim with Eiot Club and where is the beta firmware to do this ? Thank you
Products with EP06 modules do not support esim because of Qualcomm software incompatibility. See: esim — GL.iNet US
Thank you, and this response from hoff.xin still valid? Will there be a possibility in the near future for qualcomm EP06-E for mudi GL-750 v1 ?
In our promotion, the EP06 module is not supported by esim card.
In fact, EP06-A definitely does not support esim, because EP06-A software has problems.
But EP06-E upgrade to the latest software, it can support,I will write a post show you how to upgrade EP06-E software.
Maybe it will be useful for someone. 5ber arrived to me, I added the esim profile and inserted it into the router (gl-e750v1+EP06-E). The router sees the 5ber sim card and the "Add esim profile" button is active.
Thank you very much
That's great but did you actually manage to add a profile?
I put my (5ber) SIM in a router and it didn't show any of the three profiles (and profile count showed "0") but it connected OK.
We don't test 5ber esim so we don't know whether it is compatible or not. there are some customer have tested esim.me sim card, and sometimes there are compatibility problems, such as failure to write profile. Why not use GL.iNet physical esim? There is not much advantage in comparing their card with ours, for example esim.me, it is expensive and just can storeage 5 esim profiles.
For 5ber, there is not seed profile, and it is expensive ours with theire Premium and Ultra cards.
I was able to add esim through the router interface and select it as the default. But after restarting the modem, the esim page disappeared and never appeared again. At the same time, esim, which I added and made by default, worked well.
The router page with the esim selection appeared only when I manually (using a card reader) returned the profile that was there before.
Thank you, I have no doubt that your esim works better with my router, but now you do not have delivery to my region. 5ber has no shipping restrictions, so I had to choose them.
Can you check your esim profile ICCID and tell me? you can hide the last few digits.
Sure, I have two esim added:
89701620103612xxxxx as default (when it is active I see the esim management page on the router)
89372040171773xxxxx
